Introduction to SSSTS Course
The CITB SSSTS training course is required for supervisors who work on group sites with contractors and it stands for Site Supervisor Safety Training. The field of construction has its dangers and thousands of deaths and accidents occur within workplaces around the country every year. This course will provide you with the skills and knowledge to create a safe environment within the workplace.
This course focuses on Risk Assessments and their importance. It will instruct on how to put measures of control into effect as well as how to communicate effectively with the workforce in a positive way so that all employees will follow safe procedures. Also, it will give supervisors the skills to make sure that health and safety guidelines are being followed.

- Legal requirements regarding health and safety
- Regulations and health and safety acts
- Guidance notes and approved codes of practice
- The types of accidents that occur within the construction industry, what causes them and how they can be prevented
- How to conduct a risk assessment
Who Is This Course For?
This course is designed for anyone who works within a role of supervisor in the construction industry, or is considering aspiring to such a role in the future.
What Qualification Will be Achieved?
Upon successful completion of this course, you will achieve a “Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme” certificate, which will be accredited by CITB. This qualification has gained approval by the MCB and is a highly renowned qualification within the field of construction.
Duration of the Course
In order to complete this course, it is necessary to attend a two day training session, which will be provided at a local training centre convenient to you.
Exam and Course Assessment
The final examination for this particular course will consist of a multiple choice exam of 30 questions. If you are successful in passing this exam, you will be awarded with a CITB Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme Certificate.
The qualification will remain valid for five years. After this point, it can be re-qualified by attending one day SSSTS Refresher course.
